Bobby Hawk resigned as head pastor of Epic Church KC on Friday, the church’s board of directors announced in an email.

Bobby Hawk resigns as head pastor

Bobby Hawk resigns as head pastor:

“The Board of Directors at EPIC Church wishes to inform you as a member of the congregation that Pastor Bobby Hawk has given the Board his resignation letter effective June 21, 2024,” according to the email obtained by KSHB 41. The resignation comes just two days after Izzy Davis raised claims against Hawk. Among other charges, Davis said Hawk groomed her when she was 12 years old.

On Thursday, Caitlin Knute of KSHB 41 spoke with Davis about why she decided to share her tale.  Davis said she chose to do so after learning Hawk was standing for re-election as president of the Blue Springs Board of Education. Hawk resigned as president of the board on Wednesday.

On Thursday, the Blue Springs Police Department acknowledged that it was investigating charges against Hawk. Before offering his resignation, Hawk was placed on leave while the church investigated the claims against him. “Please be in prayer for Pastor Bobby and Vanessa, the EPIC staff and leadership, as we navigate this difficult time,” the board wrote via email. “We have confidence that God will help us understand the next steps and a plan that will bring honor to His kingdom.”
