Man Arrested After Double Shooting Outside Seattle Apartment Building.

Two Seattle men are recovering after being shot through an apartment window early Sunday morning. A Seattle police officer discovered two individuals, aged 37 and 28, shot near 8th Avenue South and South King Street at 12:29 a.m. The two victims were then transported to a safer area as cops requested further resources. Seattle police reported that the Seattle Fire Department treated the two and transferred to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition.

Investigation is in Progress:

Following an initial investigation, investigators determined that the rounds were fired from a neighboring second-story apartment window. “I don’t want this to happen; it made me sad when I heard these things are happening,” said Herbert Lui, the property manager where the shooting occurred. “When people open fire and shoot a lot of people, that doesn’t feel good at all, and this is bad for the community,” according to him. According to Lui, this type of violence has never occurred in this apartment complex before, and he has never had any problems with the inhabitants.

What do the Officials Say?

Police said they discovered the shooting suspect hiding inside a home and arrested him. The 24-year-old suspect will be brought into the King County Jail on two counts of first-degree assault. One restaurant owner is concerned about the impact of the shooting on his business. “When people hear about it, they’re not going to want to come to Chinatown anymore because of shootings; you can see right now that there’s not a lot of people walking around,” said Paul. Police also discovered a firearm near the window overlooking a parking lot where the victims were believed to be shot. The weapon was seized after a search warrant was served.
